One of the most original mutators I've seen in an awful long time , I was getting really sick of those , JUMBO mutator , i.e. jumbo guns , healthpacks , feet , heads, penises, oops no , not the last one

My DSL crashed tonight...a problem with the "loop" that only Bell Altantic can fix...ugh...so it looks like I won't be able to set up a Strangelove server for Sunday. Sorry guys!!!! I'll let you know when it's back up. Technician will hopefully come Monday.

All you people just don't understand the true meaning of strangelove....you just have to give the mutator some starngelovin and you will see!

And the Strangelove mutator is definitely the most fun I've had in UT for a long time; I can use three words to describe it: "Purety of essence".....

While Strangelove is really fun...I dunno. I think it gets ultimately pointless, especially if you have fewer than 6 people playing it (in a ctf-type game).

I think it'd be really cool if they came out with special 'race' maps. Maybe the first would be a 'pod racer' type map? and support for counting laps, etc? =)

And I would like to mention that I honestly do think I saw outside my airplane window a guy hanging from a redeemer rocket flying out int he opposite direction.......

That is a glitch the maker described..he has not be able to figure out why yet though..you are not alone on the green screen thing...It did not happen to me though

My DSL is back up and running. It was a supplier-side issue, apparently.

Look for a Strangelove server Sunday.
I don't have the IP yet, but I'll name it "STRANGELOVE RIDE THE REDEEMER SERVER" or something similar.


Jing: I respectfully disagree. Strangelove is certainly less precise than regular CTF, but I've played competitive games with this when numbers were kept low. IMHO, It's when numbers get high that it becomes pointless...because every time you go to make a flag cap, there's an opponent around that shoots a redeemer into your base and prevents the score. The game becomes constant explosions. I had great games playing 1v1 and 2v2, because you had to hunt down your flag, while not losing the oppossing flag which you possess. You have to care alot more about whether you get blown up in the explosions. I think when player numbers are higher, flag caps are much harder, because there are a bunch of players running around with missiles that really don't care who gets blown up, even themselves, just as long as they delay a score.

Kamikaze redeemer riding, anyone?

Just my 2c for this well-done mutator.

BTW, I had green-screen problems, but they usually went away on their own.

Seems that i'm one of the only that find it boring. maybe fun for the fist few minutes, but not that much fun that i will play it again. Nope Strangelove has left my HD.

I think I agree with Blow_Smoke. It's fun for a while, but then you get bored. It's not something I'll keep playing, but it might be worth a game every now and then.

Nothing beats CTF though.
