Yup. There's a frozen 'lake' at the bottom of a huge crater located at the north pole of Mars.

How, is the real question.
Wait. Since when the human race is wondering if there is trace of water on mars?

Actually Kantham, I don't understand the point of your question at all.
water = possibility of life
Not only that but if there is a large enough mass of water the elements in it are valuable building blocks for anyone who is intending to go and stay there for a long period of time (colonisation). You can breath some (when flavoured with other elements) and turn it into propellent for instance. H2O istelf is also very useful to grow things with/in and generally have and all around good time life and survival wise.
This could be very big news indeed........

My question is: How did it get on the outside of the crater? And why is it blue? :O

Yes. But either at the poles or sub-surface
This is the first time surface water was found away from the poles :)

I'm sure it will happen eventually. I'm just wondering if it will be in my lifetime; considering the shuttle and ISS etc...
I'd sign on for the long ride to Mars.......:)
