Arrests in terror police swoops (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4727975.stm)

Armed police investigating the 21 July attempted bombings have made a number of arrests and surrounded flats in west London in "significant" operations.

At least two properties are believed to have been raided, in Notting Hill and North Kensington, and residents moved.

Eyewitnesses say they heard three shots and a large explosion as officers wearing gas masks entered one property.

Police seeking three men over the failed bomb attacks have also made two arrests at Liverpool Street station.

The properties raided are in Dalgarno Gardens, North Kensington and the Tavistock Road area of Notting Hill, less than a mile away.

Seems they are indeed 2 of the suspects for the bombing and the Police took them without anyone being hurt.
I was critical of the Police for their actions last Friday with the Brazilian, but it seems that in other areas of the operation they've been superb. The first guy they got with tazers, and today they've again got 2 more suicide bombers without bloodshed.

I think the thread title is a little unfair tbh.

They shot the first real terror guy with a tazer.. BRIGHT IDEA. Anyway yeah, aside from the huge kokup with shooting an innocent unwarned man in the head 7 times, they've done really well, very fast.

Here's hoping that's 3/4.

Says it all really. Good to know that extreme force is not being applied to all areas. Taking suspects alive is surely the best course of action in any crime?

Did anyone see that guy being interviewed on Sky earlier? He was on the Aldgate train that was bombed on the 7th, in the same carriage just down from where the bomb went off. Then this morning he hears the bang of the stun grenades going off before the Police evacuate him from his house because the bombers are in the same street!!!!

His eyes looked totally haunted, he was saying "it feels like it's following me around." What are the chances of that in a city of 8-10 million?

Give that man a strong drink.

Almost as bad as the girl who died in the bombs that was from Lockerbie.. ffs.

Poor guy must be daunted.

And yeah, @ Tool. Our country actually tries to get stuff done, the US just thought going to war would be helpful... somehow.

I always thought the phrase was I RESENT that remark.

Plugging in the definitions gives this:
I <feel bitter or indignant about> that remark. (resent)
Vs.
I <exhibit similarity or likeness to> that remark. (resemble)
Yet I've noticed that resemble is used alot more. Is this a joke I am missing? OR is it something else?

It helps when there's actual terrorists doing stuff in your country. I saw some pics of the SAS rolling on the scene in a BMW X5 or similar SUV. Damn, talk about pimp :D
