Like I hardly see any living soul here. Just wondering what's the haps on this forum.

Also, are there any moderators even around here? Or can I just spam at will?

At this point, I really don't care. It'd be the most activity we've had in ages. If you have to spam though, keep it to this thread at least.

Difficult to maintain forum activity when the site is on indefinite hiatus.

I blame real life, it bit us all.

I'm not really the spamming type, but I just thought I might get sum attention. I guess it worked, hehe. 1 Reply in 2 weeks or so.

Yeah, it's pretty damned surprising considering how long it's been since the site was updated.

Noone willing to revive it?

I'd help get it started, since i've got a bit of free time on my hands this summer.
Anyone interested? Sad to see a site die :\

Last time I put out a call for more reviewers, no one bothered replying. As far as I am concerned, the community killed Modsquad and I will not forget it.

Oh. Well if you ever do decide differently give us a buzz, I'll be happy to help

Hold on, so this nice place ehre died due to the lack of people playing stuff?

Well, I'm always trying stuff out so I'd be willing to review stuff too. One prob, I'm UT only, no 2k stuff.

Recently played U4E Fortress, nicely done, but many points of critic.

I'm available for this site. :) (And yet again new. :P The only real concern for me is trust. :P I can review anything if there's any requests... and, unfortunatley, I'm the spammy type. But, of course, what's the use anyway if no one answers spam? :P )

Hey red Nem, as you can see there are three new reviewers applying for the job, now what?

GTD-Carthage

Today is the day we get Modsquad running, Modsquad running, Modsquad running. <<<crappy nursery song :P

I'll be real glad to get this place running... even better if I become part of it. ;)

If you guys are serious (holy sh*t) then you can all do what I asked of the last batch. Go find a mod you like in the database, and write up your own review for it. You can look at old reviews to get a feel for what should be the general length and style, but I want it to be YOUR review, and YOUR words.

If this is a serious thing I'll talk to Bean and see if I can get you guys set up. (If you're any good that is ;))

You can send me your reviews at Nemephosis at hotmail.com. That address isn't used for anything other than making sure I can get on MSN messenger.

Woooo! Guess wich? Psi weaponsmod!!!

I've just played Deus Ex for three days straight so I'm off to bed first, you'll get it in the mail. Also, where would a reviewer find reviewless mods?

GTD-Carthage

Well, I'd be willing to do it for Bullet Time 3. :P I've got lots of sense to beat into mod-downloaders. :D

Hail, for it is the Bean entering the arena of the meek!

Ha, this is pretty interesting actually. Right now, we just need people to keep up with content. Our system isn't bad now (I rather like it), but I really have zero time to try to code anything up for this. Not until the XMas break, and even then, I have my research to attend to. But I'm not going to stop you lil homies. Post some stuff in this thread actually, so we can all constructively criticize it. Then we'll see where we go.

I'm too lazy to do anything right now since I'm trying to get myself straight. I'll have that test-review here anytime this week when my parents allow me to sit longer online. :)

Hmm, maybe I can jump on this bandwagon.

Long story short, I met a guy through my college who also really likes the original UT and we may end up playing it together (I will be playing it on my mom's laptop though, ugh). Now I will be playing it a bit and I can introduce the guy to some good mods.

I might be able to give a handful of reviews myself. Don't worry, Neme. I am MUCH more mature than I was when you first met me, haha. Though, I didn't think I was that bad, just had too many battles with that Jehuty kid (which I think where mainly intentionally harmless flames... or maybe he was just a stupid kid and my points against him in my posts seemed better or something). Eh, enough of that.

But like XepptizZ, I can only play UT99. I might be able to play 2k3 and/or 2k4 eventually, but not right now and maybe not soon.

The idea of being a Modsquad reviewer could give me more cred as a BUF user, and perhaps mod developers could work on a couple of my mod ideas (Hey Neme, remember my Elemental Weapons idea that you actually liked, but never got made?).

I also have a concept in the Concept Discussion Forum of WodModPod. Check it out.

Hey, looks like we have the same life story in the Unreal Community, trent. I really am glad I'm no longer in the days of being a n00b. :D

The thing was, when we ran MS, for whatever reason, the review crew just so happened to be semi-decent writers. When I look back, and think about it, and I look now, I really honestly wonder how the 3/4 of us got together and put anything coherent together. I look around now, and honestly, people lack basic essay writing skills. I'm not asking for journalists/novelists. I just want some people with college-level writing skills. Hell, even now, I want to go back through the database and rewrite a lot of the old reviews, just because they are so juvenile (in retrospect). I think setting up reviewers now will be tougher, as my writing skills have vastly improved, so do my expectations.

Trentdaddy

The reviews could be improved, but realize they are just reviews of mods, and don't need to be some ridiculously arsty farsty novel just to explain the fact that the mod gives you bullet time or something. Reviews should be informative, unbiased if possible (maybe more than review on some mods depending on the mod itself), and for the most part straightfoward, but with reasonable detailing.

Oh my... how did I got here???

Anyway, I was surprised (and sad) to see that ModSquad didn't have any updates for that long...

...then I decided to come here and see if there was any threads alive, so that's it. I'm glad to see people are trying to "resurrect" modsquad...

But it looks like many here would be willing to review UT99 mods??? That's weird. I though that no one else was playing UT99. That's one of the reasons I left my mod alone (Apocalypse Weapons).

Still, I just wish that MS will come back soon, even though I don't like UT2k3/2k4 and won't use it, but it has really helped me a lot in UT99, not only by presenting so many mods, but also for the reviews which helped me to continue the work on AW.

I may even restart working on AW, if MS comes back... :D

Cheers everyone

So you're the maker of AW? very cool.

I don't know if you might be interested, but I'm working on a UT Bonuspack and an extra scripter would come in handy.
That's also what's been occupying me from making a review.

Anyways, the mod shoulnd't be dissappointing as almost everything is made custom. We're already having about 15 weapons planned, most of them are already modelled, the pick-ups are going to be revamped, it will come along with a necrispick-up mutator, 5 or so new playermodels are in development and mappers are busy too (I hope)

It's a mod related to another forum, linky;
http://forums.unrealplayground.com/forumdisplay.php?f=167

This mod is going on very ling now, someone to reenforce us would be great.

Ahm... I'm not really into coding. AW just sucks at Multiplayer because of my limited skills... and I was never able to get it work properly. That's why I focused on creating more things... just to separate it from multiplayer even more, by adding tons os projectiles and functions, so it turned to be a single player mod only.

Anyway, I'll go there sometime and check what's going on *Added to fav*

I actually thought that mod was good as a SP only weapons mod.I could help this site as well.My writing might not be "college approved,Face Tested." but I don't spam.....much....unless provoked....and I do play both UT99 and UT2004.my msn's BoneofFear666 AT hotmail.com
