I loved the first dungeon siege. The only thing I want to see is a map editor that works this time. That was the number one reason why I bought DS. The box claimed it came with the map editor, it didn't, it took six weeks after the release for the map editor to come out, and it was completely broken. Steam powered games never fixed it either.

I personally thought the first Dungeon Siege was one of the worst games I've ever played, akin to a unfunny ProgressQuest.
That said, it was fun to play co-op with my girlfriend because, well, co-op is always fun. Shame this is subscriber only.

I just don't understand the theory behind these companies making exclusive deals with naziplanet. I mean... I'm more akin to NOT want anything to do with a certain game when it does these kinds of things.

You subscribe to naziplanet? That's like giving BU a big ol' slap in the dick far as I'm concerned. ;)
Shame on you.

yes, I'm a whore. A dirty, dirty whore. A whore who was d/ling the UT2K3 demo on a dedicated high-speed server while all the nubs were lined up waiting for a connection > 10kbps.

Dungeon Siege I began interesting. It played more or less like a Diablo clone, it was fun. Sadly the dungeons became longer and longer, while the game failed to deliver a long time motivations as good as in Diablo - there was no real character development and there was no drive behind getting randomized items at all, there were just too many strong and generic ones. After Wesrin Pass the game only dragged on.

I agree with Ari - maybe not one of the worst games ever, but certainly most overrated. Perhaps even more so than Black and White, since Black and White was always going to be a difficult game to pull off in reality, while Dungeon Siege was simply a sub-mediocre RPG in a market where there's no need to settle for it.
It got incredibly repetitive after three levels or so, and its idea of increasing the difficulty was to force your party to walk into the middle of a trap in stupid formations during a cutscene, then spawn monsters around you. I gave up after one of the aforementioned Charges Of The Retard Brigade involving some necromancer or other. I can't even remember what I was supposed to be doing, but I'm fairly sure it involved going to a town and killing an evil whose power was on the rise as foretold by prophecy.
By the way, if I ever become rich I will set up a yearly prize, in the style of the Booker, Pulitzer etc that will be awarded to whoever writes a plot for a Western RPG that DOESN'T involve a prophecy. They're an incredibly lame excuse for putting the character in the right place at the right time ("he was destined to appear, for he was born under a purple star on a stormy night") and creating hoops for him/her to jump through ("he will fetch the Sacred Lemon from the Heart Of Agrathagrakhan, and lo, there shall be no reason for him to do so, for verily doth the Sacred Lemon suck in comparitude to the equipment you'll havest by that level, but only when he does so will the entrance to the final dungeon be revealed"). No real prophecy has ever been that specific, they're all towers and sheep and rivers of blood and other stuff that can be interpreted as fulfilled or not as you want.

You use IE?
That's like giving BU a big ol' slap in the dick far as I'm concerned.
Did you mean slap in the dick or a dick-slap? Clarify please

I screened that from work. IT Nazis don't allow Firefox installs. It will appease you all (slightly) to know I am 99% Firefox-exclusive at home (online courses don't support El Zorro de Fuego :( )

Well that was short lived.
Trying to get into a game online, leads me to a game lobby where I sit until I get tired of waiting. I guess the host is already in game, while everyone else sits in the lobby unable to join because the host already started....
Or all the hosts just never feel like starting the game. Either way, I havnt been able to get into a game online.
Meanwhile, hosting my own internet or LAN game yeilds a black screen with a mouse pointer and some lovely music when I hit start.
