View Full Version : Any Fiat owners here??

About 8 yrs ago a guy dropped off a 1500cc motor and tranny for me to rebuilt the short block and head. I never saw the car. After new sleaves, 0.20 over pistions, new bearings, valves, reserfaced the head, etc, the guy stiffed me for the bill.
I just got all the parts back from NAPA after all this time, the short block is all asmbeled and rolls over nicely, the head is together, no cam in the block, I have another box of parts looks like all the assesories, exhaust manifold, intake and carb(don`t look the greatest) distributer, starter, flywheel and clutch, oil pan and pump, etc.
Anyone interested in a good deal on a rebuilt motor and a used tranny with parts??
Or know Fiats and how to ID the block and heads as to what exact year and model fiat it came from so I can e-bay these puppies??

I might check out my local junk yard and get a body of one to restore along with that engine, but that's just a might. Let me figure out what I can do or if I can find a friend with a fiat.

I got $1,500.00 in it, I`m not going to buy anything else for this thing! Certinly not a car that needs restoration!! What for? Just to get a $1,500.00 car when I`m done. :B

If anything I`d buy another americal muscle car to restore. Something that`s going to be worth something when I got done with it.

I was thinking 500 dollars... I mean the junk yard'll give me the body and frame for around 200.

:eek: I'm into trannies as well. I can't believe you got yours for free though, but at least mine had nothing wrong with it when I needed the head the most. Where'd you get yours from? I got mine from Taiwan. Red light district.

Who'd want to restore a fiat engine? Once your FIAT becomes crappy and broken you just let them roll down a mountain. that's how italians do it.
