I know how to work them, but is there any way to get an elevator through it without having the elevator pass through the water? Like a glass elevator tube through the water.

yeah... just not put the fliud surface there. but it seems like its not possible in this case. you would have to use shaders and have it so the shader matches up perfectly with the glass tube thingy. this way the fliud surface would go through the elevator but not be seen :mwink:
then just exclude putting volumes in that spot.

Hmm, I can think of a few workarounds, maybe using the seams to line them up as well as I can.

you could do that but if you have the surface ripple it may be uneven with the surface next to it. plus you would only be able to make it a sqaure.

In this case it may be better to use an xProcMesh instead. You model the plane of water to match the BSP/meshes or whatever else. There are some examples in UT2004, but they are used rarely.
