View Full Version : 2D Fraghouse Modes

4th Feb 2005, 04:20 PM
By Shadow: (possibly slightly editorated)

I think it would be cool if the Fraghouse Team would make 2D versions of their Freaghouse Invasion game modes
Like: 2D Fraghouse Invasion, 2D Boss Rush and 2DFraghouse Reloaded.

What would you guys, and the Fraghouse Team say?

Then I'd like to ask you to please post ideas, general thoughts on miscellan... ah well.... random subjects in the forums.
Else someone might/probably will (re)move it from the comment box
I know this is useless, but at least I've tried :)

This is my idea...
I played U4E2D and that says it all :D
however... I don't know how to mod, model, code, or anthing else x.X

i can code, but only in 3d lol :D

I would like anyone who can to go get 2DTournament (http://www.2dtournament.com)
which is what this is based on... in a way

This doesn't seem like the best idea for Fraghouse Invasion. With only two dimensions (and one dimension that the monsters will move on) the maps would soon be flooded. If there were a lot of vertical platforms it might work.

How 'bout this...
the camera moves like it is side scrolling but like in old fighting games you can move left, right , and up and down along the ground, as though there were 3 or more "rows"

yah, shadow has it right ;) :lololol:

so you're talking about FHI done in a Mortal Kombat sort of way to strafe left/right, etc.

...that may be able to work.

8th Feb 2005, 04:29 PM

left/right = x ( <---->)
up= jump (y, ^ )
down = crouch.
but would it be as fun with only x and y? i dunno, try for 4d FHI.
oh wait, never mind :p

Klopas 2D mod for UT2003 was great, I think we should do this! :tup:

8th Feb 2005, 05:13 PM
4d FHI would be fun, but impossible for online play I'm afraid
And although this 2d FHI would be a cool thing to do, now may be not the perfect time
Everybody hearing about it will go "OMGWTF RIP!", but that also might be ingore-able.

I'm neutral, with a small hint of positivity on this one

24th Apr 2005, 06:12 PM
I'm not poor... I could get that for my birthday...
3 things stopping me though...

1.The problem actually is that my dad didn't exactly want it on the computer...

2.That and it accumulated way, way, WAY over half of the drive it was installed on... >.<

3.And my dad doesen't want this computer to be a gaming computer

EDIT: BONUS: I'm also too lazy to go to the store :lol:

jesus what in the âuck. Your dad is a goddamn idiot. If you have a hard drive THAT small to begin with, I think it's about time to upgrade. Games don't really do much that affect performance. YES they do take up space but there's always that myth that they actually SCREWS UP TEH COMPUTARMACHINEINTERNET. Which is a complete load of ▀ullshįt.

Maintenance is what keeps a computer from going to hell, maybe your dad should look into that.

24th Apr 2005, 08:03 PM
takes up too much space? the basic ut2k4 game takes up 4gb or so, my ut2k4 folder is 15.2 GB and contains 6,336 files, 187 folders. but then again i have 1 hdd with 168g total avalible space and anothe hdd with 74.5g of avaliable space. so that's not a big deal for me, except when i do a virus scan and it takes 95 min.

except when i do a virus scan and it takes 95 min.

THAT is what my dad does not like...

Suuuuuureeee....... Riiiiiight...

25th Apr 2005, 10:10 AM
hehe my UT takes 35.4GB but i got a own computer :P

25th Apr 2005, 04:13 PM

26th Apr 2005, 06:00 PM
I wish I had my own computer... heh

31st Oct 2005, 09:18 PM
