View Full Version : How do I make a basic movie (record a walkthrough)

Forgive my ignorance. How do I create a basic movie file of a walkthrough of my map? Nothing fancy, no camerawork. I just want to record "x" frames per second of me walking through my map, and be able to watch it as "playback", and share it with friends.

Thanks - MB

I wish I knew a better solution though.

Thanks, eastgate! I know folks have complained about FRAPS being a memory hog and such, but I'm very impressed with it. I'm not trying to capture fast-paced action, just want to be able to share my map with others across the web or in powerpoint presentations (movie walkthrough of my map - no weapons, no action, just showing off the map). FRAPS worked perfectly for that. Together with VirtualDub (opensource freeware digital video editing software) I was able to make my first movie walkthrough in a matter of minutes. I'm definitely going to pay the $30 to unlock all the features of FRAPS now.

Thanks again.
