For those who are interested, here is a nice playable map for JB2004:

JB-Chrome-beta
/edit: Removed beta-link due to the release the final version.

Don't expect too much from it, it's just a basic conversion of CTF-Chrome.
I did this to familiar myself a bit with UED3 (StaticMeshes, Emitters, ScriptedTriggers, AlphaChannels, etc.) and the new Jailbreak200x actors. I called it beta at the moment, so if you have any remarks, let me know.

Quote: I'm not a coder, I'm not a mapper, I just love Jailbreak.

OK, been through it a bit more...

ROFL @ screenshot 1
I think that the default head size of 2.5 should be restored ;)

As mentioned before... weapon base textures.

The arena fights are fantastically short... in the region of 4 seconds. Any chance of a different weapon or some health pickups?

I think that the default head size of 2.5 should be restored ;)Lol, I thought it looked funny (and I still think it does), but then I never did see a celebration screen of a suicide myself yet. :D

Don't know about changing it back to the normal "default" size though, it's just so ... ehhh ... normal.
About the arena, you're right there. I will make sure they last a bit longer.

I'm gonna post a new version tomorrow or so, with some changes in assaultpaths and defence points, and other changes mentioned above.

@Tarquin : Feel free to do so.

New version please?Almost done. As usual I'm working on too many things at the same time. Also, to get rid of some scriptwarnings I first had to learn to Combine and Shade. ;)

I'm gonna post a new version tomorrow or so ... That's still the case. :D

That's what I was thinking... SM, can you give me the list of what's needed please?

*4 month bump* :D - Any chance for an updated version CD? Imo the jails need a second exit as it happens that a player won't reach the jaildoor in time (what about a teleporter behind a door at the opposite side of the jails?) and the "widescreen" jailcams are really ugly tbh. (just my 2 Cents)

You could also try the windows sometimes. ;)
Even the bots use them.

This map is being considered for inclusion in a forthcoming Jailbreak map pack (http://forums.beyondunreal.com/showthread.php?t=158752).

Are there any known bugs?
If so, do you have a newer version in which these are fixed? Has this been tested?
If not, how soon do you think you can get these bugs fixed and tested?

INIQUITOUS

i bug hunted it :D not really any bugs. just alot of mesh stuff. and big holes in the walls but they are blocked off with a volume i presume. a few mesh alignemnt issues on some ramps and you can hide up in the ceiling area...without trans aswel.

Iniquitous, good stuff. however, if this is going to be put into the mappack i think the place he has mentioned could be given a quick fix.

CoolDude

I will fix:
- a blocking vollume for the toppart (make it transloc proof).
- get rid of the wideview JB cam views.
- the classic sniper ammo in the arena which has the wrong skin.
(when finished with helping Rob).

The jails are using different fog settings than the bases, and the vials in the middle could be risen up a bit over the floor so you can take them more easily while dodging. The Arena feels too short-range for a SniperRifle, but that's just me.
Other than that, it's OK. :)

tarquin

Is this considered complete then?

If so, link to final please?

CoolDude
7th May 2006, 08:29 AM
OK, new version:

JB-Chrome-Gold-beta2 (http://www.clanlessfun.com/cooldude/JB-Chrome-Gold-beta2.zip)

Changes beta1
- Fixed wrong skin of SniperAmmo in arena.
- Base camera's are not shown as wide-screen anymore.
- Added Blocking Volumes/JBVolumeBlockTransloc/PhysicsVolumes to the bases to prevent translocating too high.

Changes beta2
- Fixed fogsettings in jail to match the fogsettings in the map.
- Lifted up the health vials to the original UT2004 heigth.
- All Jail camera's now have simular viewing angles (100 degrees).
- Fixed bot TranslocBeacons.

This probably is the one which will be final.
