Is it possible to change your chars biography? Like mine says Name: Renegade.. so on, can it be changed?

Good question. I want to do that myself, but I dont think you can. Im pretty sure you have to start a new profile.

But if you want to change your name for online play go to settings and Player. Then you'll see where your current nic name is and you'll be able to change it.

I know how to change that, just where it says
Name:
Age:
Lifeform:

So on... =-/

Called Biography, not profile**

Ya you gotta start a new profile to make a new name.

BTW it doesnt really matter what your name is on single player cause most people just play it to unlock the secret models/skins.

It's not the name in singleplayer... it's the name bio thats goes when you select the char in Settings > Player

Warslut

No >.< Just the Biography....

So says Name: Warslut
Age: N/A
Lifeform: Android.. i dunno that stuff

For something like that you might have to change some texts in UT files. Im not to sure. Maybe someone has an exact answer.

I'm pretty sure you go into the system files of UT2004 and somewhere there are the biographies. Custom characters often have their own biographies, so I know there is a way to do it...

Shadow

Yea it sounds possible. All I can say is look through the files and try to find something like Da Swami said.

Warslut

Well I looked still no luck, I know you can too becasue I've seen it for skins like Bender and such...

Shadow

Well those are custom made. You can make them say whatever you want.

The bios are in the XPlayers.int file.

Good find Lei Hng Wei! :D

Thanks a bunch Lei Hng Wei. Just so everyone knows I'll say exactly how to make it work.

Open Xplayers.int, at the bottom I added Warslut="Name: Warslut|Age: N/A|Race: Cybernetic||Data:|dfhskdfd.||" The dfhskdfd jsut to see if it worked >_>. After that. Go into Name.upl, and goto Text=XPlayers.BotD, and change to Text=XPlayers.Name[ex. Text=XPlayers.Warslut is mine]

But seeing this isn't on Warslut file. Do I have to Send Xplayers along with warslut.utx and upl for it to work?

Guessing you do.

But hey why not just put it in the .upl like everyone else to spare downloaders/users of your skin to edit XPlayers.int!?

It's just so simple you cannot screw it up here we go:
Open up your skin/modelname.upl and either enter ,Text="Place yot text here|Now there's a line jump || and two! ||| now three ;)" or edit the original(if you copy/pasted a complete skin/model .upl file to fit your skin.)
"|" is like "<br>" in html code it jumps down a line.

Simple as that and easy to create and saving alot of time and alot of happy users of your skins ;)

Well not sure what you meant, thought I was but it didn't work >.<

Be more specific?

Never mind, I got it, thanks.

Rex said that you must open the .upl file that contains the bio from the model and modify from there. This works for custom models that come with an .upl. If you want to change the profile of the original ones, sadly, you must open the int file (make a backup first or you will regret it later, having to reinstall the almost 6GB of the game).

Steps:
-Open the .upl with wordpad or notepad
-Find the area with the bio
-Modify it
-Save it (not Save as, just save it)
-Check the game to view changes

Now, there are some symbols you must use like bars and other to get lines and others. I didn't test too much that.

Why even bother changing originals? I mean why read when you can play!? Well I don't want to edit original files of my games.... But that's another story....

The Helios

Of course I don't want to modify the originals (installing the game was a large journey). But this might be useful for those who want to put their hands on others job ;) Or to modify self works.

Yes this is to modify my skin, not the original. And I said I already got it, thank you.
