Technically no...but soon I will order this mouse.

Logitec MX 1000

It's been over a year since i grabbed my mx 500. It's been a great mouse but it has worn down about 3 everglide surfaces and lots its mouse feet long ago. It made it through a cord cut and many clicks. I would consider this the most durable mouse I have owned to date.

I felt it was time to move on to a new mouse. I wanted a tech update, something with more precision. After scoping the web for the last few months I discovered the MX 1000. This looks like the update I need. I would prefer to wait for a corded version, however there has been no news of one in the future. I'm going to give wireless another try.

I'm using a Logitech MX cordless keyboard and mouse (mouse is MX 700). As long as I don't have the receiver too close to my PC case, I hardly ever get any interference, and it seems responsive and precise enough to work with various applications (Photoshop, UED, 3DS Max) and games.

There is a tiny bit of lag on the keyboard, but only if I hammer lots of keys at once; normal response times seem fine.

i was going to get the mx510 because i hate.hate.hate. cordless mice/keyboards. is there a resolution increase from the 510 to the 1000?

I agree, In the past I have had issues with cordless mouse. Drop outs, lag, batteries dying. Logitec seems to have fixed these issues with the mx 700.... however if there is a lot of radio frequency interferance in your area.... no cordless anything will work optimally. Consider your location.

I have a logitec cordless keyboard. I love it. I put two AA batteries in it over a year ago and it has worked fine since. As long as you keep the reciever nearby in an almost line of site view...you will never have any problems. (putting it on the floor or in a drawer may cause some problems.)

Logitec isnt telling you exactly how accurate the laser is, but they are comparing it to the mx 700 optical mouse. They say it is 20x more precise. If this is true then you should take the optical res of the mx 700/500/510 "800 dpi" and multiply it by "20" since it is supposed to be 20x more accurate.
You should have come out with 16,000 dpi. I would consider that a leap in technology considering our last leap was from 600dpi to 800dpi optical res.

Although that may feel like an overkill for games (unless you game at 1600x1200 or higher res), it may just be what you need for graphic design. Anyone remember getting pissed off using Unreal editor when you tried to line up your shapes but could not because your mouse would always skip a pixel? Most users consider it a thing of the past....unless you bump your screen resolution up.

I got an MX500 also atm, absolutely owns me. And I too have worn out this everglide mat, only the E and the V are still visible, time for a new one :)
Mouse still has lots of life in it yet though!

I am still waiting for the 8 button trackman with thumb control. FFS, this should be easy to make, what are they waiting for?

Funny how Logitech.com doesn't even mention the MX1000 yet.

im picky about mice. i played for 20 minutes with a £50 thing, and couldnt move my fingers for days after from strain caused by the shape, yet my £5 MS Intellimouse that i stole is the most comfortable thing ive used.

ROO!

How ironic that I just bought this one earlier this month... I miss my MS mouse... it was a better fit... but MS changed the design... not so hot anymore

Thats what I just ordered. :) Other than the astheticly pleasing looks, I have read that there are only a few improvements.
