Downloading at the start of a game

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. When you download a map or something at the start of a Match where is it saved to?
I downloaded a kickass map from a Server yesterday and I can't find it on my hard drive.
Any help?

I think they're saved in the cache folder. Although you may not see them on the Maps folder, they are installed on UT. Until your cache flushes that is /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

No that doesnt work.
There are a load of .uxx files and a cache.ini file.
the file says this:

I cant play the maps unless i go to the server
What do I do now?

all you have to do is remove the line from the ini file, rename the coordinating .uxx file (including extension, maps are .unr) and move it to the correct directory.. boom you have the map/whatever

There's a little program called the UT Cache Manager that i downloaded from SOMEWHERE (help me out here good people!) that makes keeping the files you want and ditching the ones you don't a lot less complicated. It shows the name and type of the file in a little GUI window, without those huge VIN numbers. It allows you to make 'em permanent or delete 'em. I haven't had any problems with using UTCM, so i recommend it.
