please dont flame me for asking this.... its a really noobie question but i really wanna know how to do this
ok here goes....
how do u open skin textures so u can edit them?

(If I remember correctly) The image files for all the 2k4 skins are on CD6 or in the CD6 folder on the DVD in .png format. I'm too lazy to get the DVD out to see exactly where but if you look you'll find them ;)

i cant seem to find them ive tried every folder in the ut2004 directorie

They're all in CD6\Extras\SkinArt\Textures on the DVD and Extras\SkinArt\Textures on CD6 :)

one problem there is no CD6 in the folder

ok ive made a quick skin and i want to try it out how do i make it an utx?

On the CD (compact disc) or DVD (digital versatile disc) it's a 5.5inch round silver shiny thing :lol: In the folder I said...
The easiest way is to install the program called Upaint (on the same disc)... And load the character you've skinned first e.g., Romulus and then put your textures on him...
The basics of skinning are bound to be in the skinning threads if you look through them.
