Just wanted to say..

Yeah yeah, so here I go spamming again.. get used to it. /~unreal/ubb/html/wink.gif Anyways as the subject says, I just wanted to tell everybody just how much *** you all kick. This forum rocks. I'm also extremely happy there's no anonymous posting, and everybody has to use their name.. Plus I'm always happy to hang out in the IRC chat and play/talk with everybody.

Now if you guys are getting confused and thinking I'm just being a fruitcake, I can't blame you. But I will tell you all the reason I realize just how nice it is here:

Today I went to an old message board I used to post on frequently (the MUD I retired from to play UT). There is no control over who can post and what can be posted. So I posted a thing or two (addressed to a friend of mine), and within the same day some anonymous jerk decides to butt in and flame me all to hell. Well, I can't even really say 'anonymous', it was somebody I know, used to be friends with, and even CONFIDED in who did this to me, and just lacked the conviction to put his name next to his words. Here I go sounding all wussy but it really hurt to see somebody I once considered a friend speaking so rudely to me and especially on a public board.. not to mention the fact that he chose to do so anonymously. This isn't the first time it's happened to me there, but I can be sure it will be the last as I've had my final reminder of why I chose not to play there anymore.

I am now rambling, I will stop now. I apologize for sounding like a total dork, but I just had to say it. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

Oh, I knew it was him for many reasons. In general I can tell who a person is by the way they type, words they use, and other stuff. This guy's known to post with lame anonymous names (Annie Moose, Anne E. Mouse, etc.) Plus he's done stuff like this to me before, due to a mysterious grudge that came out of nowhere. It really wouldn't make sense unless I attempted to condense the massive amount of bullsh!t that went on at that game into a post, which I just can't do. Anyways, I wouldn't put it past him. Even if it somehow WASN'T him, I still don't need to see people using the words he used directed at me. I'm not a huge fan of anonymity when it's used to hurt others.

Hehehehe Serpico /~unreal/ubb/html/redface.gif It's fun figuring people out by the way they type. /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif After playing on a game like that for um.. well, it's been close to two years now, your sole way of interaction is of course purely text. You chat with the saaaaaaame people day in and day out, of course you pick up little clues about each person's style, word usage, punctuation, and many other little details. (spelling, grammar, capitalization, use of smileys, WHATEVER /~unreal/ubb/html/redface.gif) it all lends to the tone of their 'voice'. I think it's probably a similar method that you use. Well what do ya know I'm rambling again.. hehehe /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif
