View Full Version : Just How many [PUF]'ers are there anyway???

7th Mar 2000, 12:52 AM
Greetings ;
The reason why I ask that is that I play UT
almost every night and I rarely see any fellow PUFs ??? I am from the So. Calif. area
so are there any fellow PUFs in this neck of the woods ? :-)
It should would be nice to get some back up
in some on-line gaming events... See Ya around guyz.
P.S. I go by the handle of "[PUF]Toothpick"
but the board here somehow lost my original A.K.A.

Well, I personally know there is a whole hell of a lot (over 100)
As for not seeing them, most people get attached to their stats (Like me /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif) so they call themselves puf but go around online with their old names. Not to mention some of em just camp by this forum and hit refresh until the posts spawn. (damn sounds alot like everquest.)

When upset, keep in mind it takes 42 muscles to frown, yet only 4 to extend your middle finger.

I need a good clan! (http://ut.ngworldstats.com/fcgi-bin/Display?gt=UT&gm=all&page=m&view=p&uid=620437)

Well...not to be a nit-picker or anything...but if you're looking for "PUF"ers, you probably won't find any as they go by "PuF"ers(notice the lower case u). I wouldn't even bring this up, except ngStats is case sensitive, and if you're looking there, you wouldn't find any under PUF.

Having said that, I agree with Clanless in that not all of us use the PuF tag(I being one for example.) If you hang out in #planetunreal, you'll usually find us though.

And lastly, I'm from SoCal myself(South Orange County, Languna Niguel to be exact.) Dunno what relevance that has, but you did ask /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

If you use Gamespy to join your games, click "find player" and type in "puf" in the search field(gamespy is not case-sensitive).

Make sure your current view is "ALL servers", since Gamespy only searches your displayed servers.

Or, from inside your UT games, open up the CHAT tab and type in a new channel called "#planetunreal". Click on anyone of the players listed in the side bar and send him a message and if he is playing somewhere, an "away" link will pop-up. Just double-click on the link.

The problem with this method is that the PuF'er must connect to the #planetunreal CHAT channel first.

The Gamespy method will find PuF'ers even if they are not in the #planeturenal channel.
