UDN Updated

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

The Unreal Developer Network has received a huge facelift both visually and internally. The new version is much more easy to use and graphically appealing, enhanced with faster searching and better content organization.

For those of you not familiar with UDN, it is the content developer's best friend. It is, in my opinion, the best source for finding almost anything you need to know about making or modifying anything with the Unreal Engine.
Also, a new feature of UDN is the Unreal Technology Roadmap, which pretty much covers every aspect of the current versions of the Unreal engine.

The new UDN is way more functional indeed but previous graphics were imho much better. New indexing system now seems to really index every UDN page while previous looked like maintained by hand and was usually outdated, forcing us to use the search feature to navigate efficently.

There's one annoyance I noticed though:
Look at this page for example: http://udn.epicgames.com/Two/ReadMeFirst
It lists documents belonging to ReadMeFirst topic and their description + contents, which is nice, but the ReadMeFirst page itself doesnt have any real index of the belonging documents - you have to scroll and read entire ReadMeFirst page to find out which documents belong to this topic.. or try the search feature.
