Bobo-The-Penguin asked me how to make skins in UPaint today.

So here's a basic tutorial.

To make some goofy skins:

The play disk has "UPaint" on it, it's in the "extras" folder, install that first.

Once UPaint is installed, go to: File > Open > Program Files > Right Hemisphere > UPaint > Characters (they will be .upp extensions)

Pick one and save it as 'goofy_skin' or something similar...

UPaint is very similar to MSPaint, but a little more cumbersome.....you'll see what I mean.

Once you're done messing around with it, ie: spraying it up with lines and such.......

File > Export Character to Unreal (this will take a minute or two cause it has to create a bunch of files...)

Fire up 2k4 and your skin should be in the character browser....

Fun eh? :D

<edit>... I've got troubles :(

np.

I got problems too. I changed one of my skins and saved it as Divisor by accident. Now I've got two Divisors and no team skins for her. I tried reinstalling 2k4 but it picked it up from somewhere.

I've always used the .psk files when skinning in UPaint.......Half the time I get an error when I try one of the included .upp files from UPaint......

Upaint Skin Error

I just installed Upaint about a week ago and have played around with some of the skins. I noticed that the skins for Satin and Sapphire seems to have an error. Some sort of cover appears over the face. Has anybody else noticed this too?

It's because they have a clear mask over thier faces that thier hair is painted on.

It won't show up in game but it does show up in UPaint. Don't know what to do about that.
