Infiltration Server Radar - beta released

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Tonight, we release the first public beta of Infiltration Server Radar, an INFSpy-like program for browsing the active INF 2.9 servers. In addition to the usual functions, ISR features a small radar display showing you at a glance which servers are populated and how far away they are from you - in terms of ping.

If I got you interested, give it a try (homepage and download (670kB)). Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Sweet, very sweet

The only comment I would make is that on a high res screen it can be a bit tricky to make out the dots and/or click on them -- maybe you could make the dots or the radar bigger (or have an option to do that)?

No need to worry. There is no information transmitted away from your machine. Upon start there are two requests made to our web server, one checking for new version (there will be no autodownload or such stuff, only a decent notice added to the screen than an update is available) second you may have noted that the mutators in the list are abbreviated. The list of abbrevation is updated so that new mutators can be taken into account. You can easily check that with any network sniffer listening for connections to 213.239.200.38, if you are really worried.

an addition we have to do:
if you want sth. to have added to the nest (0.5b) Version would be fine if you post it in here. Currently we got some feedback about "resizable window" that is part of the 0.5b roadmap. Also the "Fav. Servers" group was questioned.

So if you have any suggestions, would be fine if you can post it here or in the Infiltrationmod-Forum at http://forum.infiltrationmod.de (in english too ;))

Great job this rox! My INFspy hasn't been working properly, thanks for an even better replacement. I love the abbreviated mutator list for each server and the cool radar thingy.

One thing: INFSpy used to put a maps name in red if you didn't have the map the server was running. Could you add that feature?

I'm consistently having a problem whereby, over time, populated servers 'drop off' the radar entirely (maybe because they don't respond to queries because they're too stressed by the player load?).

Is this a known problem, and is there a fix possible for this?

Otherwise great work; I look forward to the next release.

Ah, ok. But it would be nice if servers which were only briefing pinging high (on a map change, for example) could return to the radar afterwards (they don't seem to).

A server is only hidden from the radar due to high ping when the appropriate filter is active.

However, packet loss can lead to a server being kicked from the list of active servers. It should come back shortly afterwards, but occasionally there seems to be a problem. It is known and I will address it once I have time to continue working on the next version :)
