hmm if only the cars no longer brake politely when i reverse , then move forward... this came from the bulldog, and its completely useless in a racing mod !
also about the turbo thing... hmm why dont you follow the ut2k3 dodging style or somethign? like 'dodge forward' becomes the turbo , 'dodge back' is a handbrake, and 'dodge left' and 'dodge right' is a combination of turbo and handbrake that makes the car turn sharply... something like the special turn move in mario kart: double dash...
and oh , can the next release of unwheel contain the 'uw follow camera' that was made by someone as the default camera view? sorry to whoever made that mutator, i only just figured out how to get it to work!if only the camera has a certain 'inertia' in it, so that sudden stops or sharp turns show up more obviously... like your car hits something and stops suddenly, and the camera carries on forward to emphasize the sudden change of movement...
also can the engine's sound follow the rpm of the wheels, and not the speed of the car... that woudl be cool...

also, are the cars supposed to have different speeds? when i played with my roommate finally, the "skyline" was slower than the hummer. i don't think it should be like that. really nice mod though. i was getting 10 fps with unrealspeed and wanted to get a good car mod. looks like i succeeded.

ooh... gahh i never played with anyone so i didnt know...
and hmm can the big dump truck be 'restricted' to special unwheel sub-gametypes? cuz like alotta times, it would just poof into nothingness when one of the wheels or something roll over a part of the level that the game doesnt like it to roll over... and it happened once with one of the monster trucks too... just dissapeared into thin air...
and oh, the cars handling on flat ground is all nice and stuff, abit kart-like , but when they go off road they seem to have this 'detached' feel to them, like you cant really sense that the wheels coming into contact with the ground ... hmm maybe it could just be the funny way the shadow is dissapearing and appearing and it also happens on flat ground sometimes, but also when an on-road car can seem to climb up impossibly steep hills that would have blocked it in other games...theyre behaving more like buggies than road cars...is there a way to improve that?
::edit:: now that i think of it the cars are quite ok, theyre really jumpy on uneven ground which are good for the off road vehicles... hmm... maybe the off road vehicle's suspensions can be made to look softer or something... the off road trucks' body stays quite still but the tyres are hugging the ground and shaking and stuff...something like how they currently are if you turn down their suspension hardness, but without losing their height... like they resist jumping over small bumps and stuff, and only accept a jump when its a good size... like hooke's law, when the springs not pressed on, they dont push up on the car that much, but when its compressed, it pushes upwards harder... or its already in the game and im not noticing it... hmm...
and also, on the doublesider, after i get it to flip , i.e. going over the embankment in vegaseight at high speed and flinging it into the air, it has a higher risk of falling through the map, and pressing jump to reset it would only reset it under the map...plus the 'dust' effects woudl also be on the wrong side, like dust trailing off the top of the vehicle...and the tread patterns look like theyre facing the wrong way too, maybe it should have been horizontal lines instead of the traditional v shape... maybe theres a better way to do this car? like when the game detects that its upside down , its instantaneously 'inverted', not flipped as in rotating 180 degrees but 'teleported' right side up again...

i wish they could stand a little more abuse though. it's easier to kill someone in a vehicle than to kill someone with a vehicle. except the tank, of course.

hmm i think the vehicles are weak cuz theyre trying to focus on normal running around and killing people thing, not a vehicular combat game where if you go out of a vehicle your dead...
besides, if unwheel goes for ut2k4 we wouldnt have to worry about vehicles blowing up anymore...right?

That my friend is completely the opposite of the truth. If we don't post on the main page it's cos we're too busy with modding and with replying on the forums. When Shrimp stops replying on the forums THEN you know we're dead.. We are nowhere near dead. The next beta is within a few weeks. Don't worry, after that we'll be on 2K4. Not to mention if this mod dies I will personally steal the source code and continue on it (probably shouldnt've said that)

glad to hear it. PS. Shrimp, as well as fixing Carribean I've also been working on a 2K4 Unwheel Race map. Pix of UW-RC-Faerie will appear soon.
