Seems my usual online computer hardware store has this hot little number on sale these days. And I'm seriously considering upgrading my ratty old GF3 to match my new CPU, RAM and mobo.

As far as I can tell, it's a bog-standard ATI reference design with a "surprisingly quiet" fan, so in theory it should perform just as well as an equivalent card from a more "established" brand like Sapphire or Asus even though it's a good €50 cheaper. It got top marks from Thor's hardware (German), but I still thought I'd ask around if anyone here have any first-hand knowledge about it.

Well, I've got a PowerColor 9600 card and I'm quite happy with it. Watch it if your card has a 40mm fan, though. I had take off mine as it was rattling a bit. PowerColor may make cheaper cards but it is said that they actually produce their own memory.

I've got a powercolor 9700pro. No complaints at all and I even have it overclocked a bit (though there's still no game that needs the extra speed).
