View Full Version : character mesh import/export problem (3dsmax/UT3)

Hey all,

I'm stuck and looking for some help. I have a Biped rigged model in 3dsMax5 (its actually the released UT player models). I'm using ActorX to bring it into UTed3. The problem is when the character is imported it does not modify to the skeleton of the linked animations, even the psa I export with the mesh. So linking a RunF animation just has the whole mesh bounce up and down rather than each limb following the bone.

The character is fine in 3ds as the mesh is modifyable by the biped. I don't know where its going wrong after that. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Which ActorX version are you using? I've heard from a few people that the latest version has bugs that screw with the exports. Version 1.97 that I still use works flawlessly, so you could try that - do a forum search for ActorX, I've still got it uploaded here as an attachment since it's apparently no longer available anywhere for download.
