Extracting sound/music from DVD

well its a gray area, it could be considered illegal by some because to extract the audio you have to break the copy protection, violating some dmca thing. but also it is said in the dmca acts or whatever that when you own a movie its yours to do with what you want (like backups) as long as you dont publicly display it or sell it. no ones ever been tried in court for ripping and using audio for personal use, so technically its could be illegal. its up to the courts to interpret the law and there hasnt been a case to yet.

x2cd is the only program i know of off the top of my head, search for dvd rippers and look at the features of each to see if it has the ability to rip the soundtrack.
