ASUS user made bioses

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Hey, I´ve just know that there are some bioses made by users, to optimise performance and stuff.

Is there any site you know? Any issues?

I have a A7N8X Deluxe, and I have not found any sites yet.

Thanks in advance,

I have that same exact board, I don't see anything wrong with the "bioses" :D.

And I've never heard of user made bios. >.<

Basically the RAID controller built onto some motherboards has the exact same hardware as a standalone product from Promise.

For whatever reason the built in one is usually limited to RAID 0 and RAID 1.

By downloading an alternate hacked BIOS you presumably get access to the full range of functionality you would with the standalone product.

What would a user-made BIOS do here though? :

It looks like the default BIOS should already do everything you could want.

Well, the "user mande" term, is just a term witch differenciates the 'bioses' made by ASUS and tweaked ones...

BTW...

Licence issues (*chough*intellectual propery*chough*... ;) :p :D :D :D). They get the licence/chip cheaper if they restrict it so that maybe some people go buy the real thing.* Patching your BIOS that way is probably illegal. Exept maybe if it's a real user made BIOS and not one that's extracted - maybe with some additional hacks - from the full product.

*Another possibility is: less functions = less crap to support.

OMFG HYPROCITE SHHHH!!!111

Got me on that one :D

Hey, does adding a RAID controller add IDE channels (on top of the existing four)?
