Continuing the relentless release trend of the past couple of days, FragOps v1.1 has been released. Here's a list of the major features:

Tactical team-based play involving two opposing forces: Mercenaries and Special Ops
8 unique combat environments, including a 3-map desert trilogy, dimly lit nighttime assaults,
a freezing arctic base, even a helicopter crash in a ravaged modern city
Two gametypes, RoundGame and Mission

Players can gain cash and weapon prizes by achieving medals awarded for skill and tactics
12 fully functional weapons: 5 Rifles, 3 SMG's, 2 Sidearms, 1 Shotgun, and 1 LAW
Weapon Attachment and upgrade system, allows combination of attachments
Dynamic Object Manipulation: deflect grenades with gunfire or scoop them away with bayonets!
Shoot weapons on the ground to destroy them or knock them away from people!
Chainable Mission system allows for mappers to create more than 200 seperate objectives per team
Countless types of missions, including a nuclear missile launch scenario

Original gravity-based bullet aiming system that requires weapon control and sharp reflexes
16 individual body hitzones, covered by 6 seperate plates of body armor
Custom ragdoll death system generates random death sequences depending on weapons used

You'll need the latest UT 2003 patch, both the Epic and DE bonus packs, and you must splay a goat at midnight in order for the mod to function 100%. Ok, belay that last one...

Stop by the official site for a lengthy list of download mirrors.

It's an alpha release, chill out. I'm sure the money system will be tweaked a great deal over the next few releases.

With that being said, the mod seems promising. By comparison, recoil is higher and weapons take much more aim to control than Tactical Ops. There is also a severe lack of creative and fun maps. Random building/hallway placement maps aren't fun.

bah, with such a simple clone of such a boring concept the team should have released a little more then a mere 'alpha'.

The only 'new' things they seem to add to the CS/TacOps-clone is that you can damage/move dropped weapons ..

btw :
anyone else find it funny that v1.1 is considered an 'alpha' by the team ???
I wonder what they would consider pre-alpha status

we have CS/half-life to thank for that I'd say as that always was a permanent beta until it got to be an 'official' add-on ...
