Are you looking for a fun, different mod to work on? If your creative soul yearns for something unique and challenging, coil wants to talk to you. We're looking for a few people to help us make Duffers Golf not only a top UT2003 modification, but also the top multiplayer golf experience. Right now we're looking to fill the following positions:

Concept Artist: We need a talented artist to help bring our characters to life. If you're fast with a pencil and play well with others, give us a buzz.
3D Modeler/Animator: Our characters need to swing, so we're looking for a 3D master to help us make it happen.
Course Designer: Do you dream of fairways, bunkers, and greens? If you know the game of golf better than your own kin, and have an unnatural love of UnrealED, we want you.

If you are interested in any of these positions, or feel you have skills that need to be put to use on this mod, please send samples of your work and a little about yourself to info@coil-inc.com (mailto:info@coil-inc.com).

You didn't post for any skills I possess, but if you find yourself in need of a sound designer down the line, let me know.

are the courses going to be terrain?

btw you already have some nice textures and meshes you should release a small mapping pack or something and see what some ppl can come up with

beefsack: Yeah, the courses are terrain, with the exception of the greens. We toyed with making it mostly static meshes, but these holes are HUGE, and it would probably bring the framerate down too much. With terrain we get the benefit of occlusion.

We probably will release a mapping kit shortly after release, but we have to finalize the custom entities that are needed, as well as the process as a whole.

should release a couple of textures then so i can play around :p when you update the utx file go over the old names and the textures will just be replaced in the map

Do you have any concept art for models, either player or static meshes?

18th Nov 2003, 09:50 AM
Unfortunately we don't, as we've had problems securing a concept artist. The artist we worked with on our last project took a job at Capcom.

Are you looking for something alon these lines
(It's a wip still tons to do to it)

Or you looking for a more cartoonish style?

I would say our desired style is more anime in nature. You have a nice start to a model there, but it's not quite what we're going for.
