Hi All

Using the UnrealED, runtime version.

Before I open UnrealEd, my system resources are 96%, once UnrealED has loaded, its 48%, and 10 minutes after use, it will crash, with a Critical Error Window, with no buttons, and no text. My system resources then become 27%, and I can open anything.

Trying to open UnrealEd again, I get a No Label error, then my system will not function.

I have 192mb or RAM, which should be enough?

Also, I hate running the editor in 32 bit colour, is there anyway to change this?

Though I should give my system details.

32MB TNT2 64M Graphics Card.
1.3GHZ Duron

Maybe winME is your problem, i've seen alot of people reporting all kinds of problems with winME.

WinME is meant to have good memory management, could be it, but could be something else...

winME and good memory management in the same sentence? I think you're getting confused with XP, that's the one that has good memory management. ME is just bad. I used it for all of a week before upgrading to XP :)

Windows 2k/XP > Windows 9x

You seriously need an upgrade, Windows ME sucks monkey balls. ;)

Win9x/ME are not recommended for development. Memory and display issues, general instability, etc. abound. Additionally, your video card performance will be seriously underwhelming.

So WinXP Home will be good enough? Or should I go for win2000?

XP Home is enough for UnrealEd, but it depends on what else you expect from the OS.
