Doesn't look bad, but then I'm not a hardware buff. All I know is the burner I have sucks. :(

Nevermind. Just got a good deal on a Sony crx220a1 on clearance at Best Buy for $64.99 with a $20 rebate. Sony always seems to be top notch stuff.

Don't get an HP burner, it was good for a while, but now it just sucks.

look on pricewatch.com

i got a samsung 48-24-48 for i think around 40 bucks? not really sure. but it works great. except in windows xp, for some reason adaptec refuses to work, and direct cd, and all those roxio apps. i had installed the xp versions (there are compatibility issues with 4.0) and still nothing. being fed up i started using iTunes for windows, and that alone has convinced me to buy a mac for my next comp.
