Ninja Turtle by me, took about 15 - 20 minutes to sketch. My personal fastest (and fave) doodle I've done.

You can find a lot of my stuff on my site here, but I also have done a lot of stuff that I haven't put on my site yet.

Here's a few things I drew at least 3 years ago:

http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/TwoCruisers.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/Vbattleship.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/UnhappyShipKillingStuff.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/LaserTank.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/TwoPics.jpg

Here's some stuff that will be on my site sooner or later, or at least has some relation to what I'm writing:

http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/TankSide1.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/TankBase.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/TankTurret.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/SkaarjCannon.gif
http://invis.free.anonymizer.com/http://members.lycos.co.uk/waffnuffly/ISVbase.gif
^^^that last pic is old as well and probably won't be on the site, but it's an abandoned ISV base on a sky island with UMS ships going by to attack the Skaarj on a different island

I have soooooo much more than that laying around in my house, but a lot of it is really old and not worthy of upload or scan. I'm gonna draw some more stuff sooner or later; probably some Skaarj ships or something.

Sweet pics btw toss... that last one only took you 15 minutes?! Jesus, that's awesome

how do u do that?
it's so simple that it hurts. just use soem fat hard edged tool and paint soem black shape. then take a very thin hard edged white tool and paint the detail you want.

I believe he's saying that he uses a brush or pencil tool in PS or PSP - draw out the general shape and go back and add/take away from the shape to get the detail.

So, take a look at Balton's figure. The shape of the figure is filled in first with black. Next, he may go into it with an eraser tool or brush/pen tool set to a fine point in order to handle the white details. The look and feel of the strokes would indicate that he may have used a wacom tablet.

This kind of exercise can be lots of fun because you can play with the pos/negative space to get some nice effects while still keeping it simple.
