Use joystick as volume control!

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

I dont know if you'll find this program I wrote useful, but when you have an unused joystick and two volume controls for 4 speakers on your computer, this program will help.

"Do you have a set of speakers with no volume control on them?* Do you hate pressing alt-tab just to change the volume during your game? Or perhaps you're like me and you have more than one volume control for your speakers, and which you had one knob outside of your monitor to control the volume. "

You can find more about the program, how to use it, download it, and download the VB source code for it at http://moeburn.homelinux.com/joyvolume.html

Not a bad idea, but I have a volume control on my keyboard (Logitech Cordless Duo). For those times (always) I can't be bothered leaning forward slightly to touch my actual speakers.

That's a fecking brilliant idea.

I bought a SB extigy because I was so sick of software volume controls.

I think external volume controls are one of the things PC's need if they're to be taken seriously as "entertainment centres" or whatever.

thanks for your replies, all! I actually found out that there are usb/ps2 volume controls that you can buy that have the same purpose as my program here, the only difference being mine is free and theirs is 30$up.

i'm making a new version, with a nicer interface that will allow you to choose between 8 different axis (#$%!) and 12 different buttons. You can set axis to be either volume, balance or fade. And you can set buttons to be mute, play/pause, volume, fade, balance, all with selectable "autofire" speed settings.

And i'm going to do it all in Visual Basic 6. :O
