Cashiers Diapered to Avoid Breaks?
Fri Aug 1, 8:11 AM ET
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - Supermarket cashiers in Argentina are being forced to wear diapers to keep them from taking toilet breaks at work, a union says.
Female cashiers in western Mendoza province must wear adult diapers in case "cold, nerves, pressure or stress" provoke incontinence, union official Jorge Cordova told local news agency Diarios y Noticias on Thursday.
Cordova refused to name the supermarket, but he did say the chain is backed by foreign capital, said Sandra Varela, Mendoza's labor subsecretary.
"The truth is, it's difficult to imagine a line of 20 adult cashiers wearing diapers for eight hours," said Varela, who is investigating the matter.
"In seventeen years as a labor lawyer, I've never heard anything like this before," she added.
Let's all do it with me:
:con::con::con:
I can already hear the PA system..."Diaper change at register 5, repeat, diaper change at register 5..."

Similarly shocking and disgusting as what one hears about certain sweatshops that "indirectly" produce well-known companies' goods :hmm:

There's tons of factories in the states where there aren't enough bathroom facilities for the women to use during break, so some of them are out of luck. They are using similar ideas to help with the problem. Nothing like urinating your pants at work I'm sure.

Didn't people who work dressed-up as cartoon characters at Disney land have to fight to gain their right to wear something else than the same Disney underwear every day?
Oh, and I can't get rid of the impression that my sweatshop post sounds incredibly naive. As if I had heard of that problem for the first time today, or so. I'm sorry if it does, it's not meant to. Maybe that's just me :P

I couldn't believe it when I heard it.... and Mendoza isn't a bad province,
those employers deserve to be thrown to a pool of used diapers and made swim for their liberty

i agree with what they are doing its just lowly cashiers, and if they cant afford time to be taken off for the cashier to go to the bathroom due to customers, well thats their job to ring up customers not chill in the bathroom smoking 4-acetoxy-DIPT.
so they should support the economy and piss/**** their pants (using more adult diapers, increased economy too) and its not that bad you just change when you get home you probably forget about it until then.
if i was a dictator id order all toilets be blown up no matter the circumstance at 4:00 p.m. the day after i turn dictator.

Let me know what you notice by the end of the day. I'm sure the smell, the irritation and pain of uric acid on your skin and the fun of standing, sitting and squishing around in your own feces should be really fun for you.

Somehow, diapers are kinda fitting in this case. :p

Well I suppose you don't care about the fact that not going when you have to can lead to serious health problems, including a hernia that requires surgery.
Not only that you seem to ignore the fact that a) peeing in a bottle at the checkout would be very unhygenic and disgusting and also probably violates some law about exposing yourself and b) that about 51% of the population would have a problem peeing in a bottle.
Your joke, "great dain", yeah I've never heard THAT before. Go mister original.

No.
There's always the chance that there's no irony in that kind of post. It's what's shocking about society, and stuff. Or so.

Uh no. But when you write a paragraph using only one sentence. It makes it hard to understand what you’re trying to say.
Now since that’s cleared up. You owe me for the five minuets of my life that I wasted on this. So how will you be paying. Visa? MasterCard? Or should I just take it out of you a**. ;) :p

If you can't be bothered to make your post readable, we can't be bothered to read it.
Anything worth reading is worth writing properly.

I agree, I don't think it's irony any more, just trolling :)
