Ok, I know a bit about Unreal Warfare... Like how when UT2k3 was in development, some thought the new game would be called Unreal Warfare, but then it was called UT2k3 and then every one thought that it was just the engine that was called UW...
But after reading a HomeLAM fed article on the most important games Unreal came up and they talked about the rumors that UW as a rumor that was still to surface. (it wasn't much, just like one line at the end)

After reading Tim Sweeney's interview on 64 bit game computing ...
Epic has already updated Unreal 2003 for use on a 64-bit system, Sweeney says. The program will be ready to go as soon as a compatible 64-bit OS arrives. The company, which typically spends about two years creating each of its new games, is already working on its first fully 64-bit game, which is scheduled to hit store shelves in 2005.Would this be another game in the unreal series? or a whole different title? If it is another Unreal game... could it be the Unreal Warfare game????
Or am I just being a fool making a whole lot of out nothing :p

Does any one have any other info on UW?

I can't remember what game, maby it was XIII, but when I alt-tabed out of it, the like label or whatever for the toolbar thing at the bottom was "Unreal Warfare" so it must be the name of the engine or something.

this is probably epic's 'next big thing' (think UT2006).

I thought UW was cancelled or had a name change. I don't think it would be a UT2006. I think it would be more like what we first saw in the old UW videos and screenshots. Don't forget that Maximum PC article.

I swear Unreal Warfare was the new name of the game engine that UT2k3 and unreal 2 use. :con:

what is the offical name of the game engine that UT2k3 and unreal 2 use then?

Unreal Warefare is the name of the engine. I'm just talking about the 'game' we saw in the first demo shots of the engine.

It's the engine for builds > 600
http://www.epicgames.com/unrealenginenews.htm

However
http://www.gamespy.com/games/3599.shtml
suggests its a new version of the game, to be released Q4, 2003.

Hope this helps resolve uncertainties.

thats very interesting...

TheEndruu, I thought the devs of any game using the licensed unreal engine are responsible for making all changes to the engine, if so Sweeney couldn't be refering to anything non Epic and company, right?

Epic controls the engine. But, a license can choose to use that 64-bit processing. I would assume.

Guys, Unreal Warfare is being made. I have CliffyB on Extreme Gamer Radio(XGR) saying this "Yes, we are making a game, yes it called Unreal Warfare, but it's a ways off so there's not much to say" -and he talked about story he's developing, etc.

It is being made.

The engine is and ALWAYS will be called the "unreal engine". People have reffered to the 600 versions and higher as the unreal warfare version but I don't know where that comes from.

Try searching on the INA/Atari (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=249) forums, there's a thread in there somewhere with an official description of UW. UW is the game/tech demo that gets sent to developers with the unreal engine. It's just a couple of levels showing off what the engine can do, and how it can be done.
