JB -> CTF ... now that's really something new (being the one who tortures the community with CTF to JB conversions, I know what I am talking about here).
@KingCobra: If you get the permission from Rev, make sure you add some sort of 'Jailbreak III Gold' Banner somewhere in the map ;)

Well ... what do YOU think of it?

I think it was pretty cool. There are a few issues that need sorting tho imo.
The use if the decorations as teleporters is a cool idea, however they just don't look like teleporters. It might be better to set their display type to translucent and maybe put somekind of warp effect with them.
The bases are pretty cool (nice and open) but they could do with some more detail. At the moment they're simple subtracted cubes with no visual interest (same with the corridoors). Needs more trim and decoration in those parts of the map.
With some more work on the geometry, it would be a good CTF map.

I played a couple of games on it last night.
The zip-file looks kinda rubbish though, I just copied the CTF-map.
My first impression was OK, but hey, it's Babylon, so it has to be.
I like the wide open bases (but I do miss my redeemers).
I liked the extra teleporters in the middle, leading to the invisibility.
Also the idea of the two extra corridors with the former jail in the middle is OK (however, i'm not sure if they are needed to be honest).
Some other points:
- I don't see RevBilly's name mentioned anywhere anymore ?!???
- The corridors are "just" corridors. They are not decorated at all, and they don't look like they are part of Rev's perfectly decorated map.

Ok. RevBillyG. I will make all those change's. CoolDude. Look in the readme, I give all the credit to RevBillyG. I did the same when uploading the map, in the preview I whas saying, that it is a conversion ov JB-Babylon, by RevBillyG. And all the credit goe's to him. Thank's for the comment's. I whanted to put a lot of eyes candy in there. But I whas affraid, that it might be to slow on some machine. I will do a 2nd version of it. Whit all those thing's mentioned. Thank's guy's.

In my opinion this map fails because it's somehow divided into two parts - those that already existed (done by Rev) and those you have added. You don't have to be a genius to see that these two mappers have achieved totally different levels in their mapping career and that simply does not mix.
Stick with the layout but start it over from scratch (if you want to make it a good map), avoid simple cubes and make the rooms interesting, allign the textures properly (and don't use too many different ones), add some trim and work on your lighting. When you come to the point where people are unable to tell who did what parts of the map you're a winner!
EDIT: There is just one place to give proper credit imo and that is in the LevelProperties (the info that pops up when you select a map). Should have read "RevBillyG - CTF by KingCobra" besides all entries in the readme (as nobody takes care of readmes these days) ...

I'm only doing that for fun. I'm a No0b on maping. My force is pathing. But I'm finishing a map, and it is ready for realese, I'm whaiting for my UMX file. But to be totaly honest whit you. Ok it is only my opignion, but it is much harder, to path a map, I mean really well, then making a map. About over 20 mapers, had toll me this, but I really din't beleive them. But know all I can say is yes that is true.

Ok. What doe's it mean when you say, that ALL the credit goe's to someone. Explaine my that please. I'm not even taking credit for what I have done, and no credit for the pathing to. What do you whant man?
BTW: I have done over 200 maps, for pathing. And in about 40 of them. You don't see me name anywhere. And some of them I had arange the map it selft, you no brush deco, gun's well everything in those maps,no hard feeling man

I'm a N00b on maping While I was posting in this thread I was in constant temptation to use exactly that word but skipped it because it easily offends people. Sadly it looks like I have offended you anyways so lemme say I am sorry for that (all I ask for in return is that you stop calling me 'man' -ok?).
I don't care if you are good in pathing or good at football or skiing as you have asked for opinions about your map (or did I misread something?) - so there ya go ... learn to see constructive critic as something good (think about what was said and improve your work based on that input) and don't get offended by it.
Saying that pathing is way harder as mapping is pathetic. Having another look at your map, it's easy to spot why you think so. Pathing indeed is important (and it's even more important for a gametype like Jailbreak, because a stuck bot can ruin a whole game) but putting the pathwork up onto a golden throne completely misses the point.
And about the credits again: My first thought about seeing just your name (without mentioning RevBillG at all) in the level descripton made me thought 'Ooooops ... pretty arrogant' ... but after I have played your map, I came to the conclusion it might be better that way.

WOW! I don't understand you. I take all the critic?. Good our bad. it is the point of maping, and pathing. Give me all the critic that you whant. I don't mind a bit. And Stop whit that thing of RevBillyG. Please. Like I said he had ALL the credit for that map. And I din't take any?. I'm not looking for fame here. Just to a map, that I like alot, and do something else whit it. And Sory yes pathing is way much harder. Don't take my word for it. Just ask all the great mapers. They will tell you. Cause they all told me that, and I din't whant to beleive them. But after some conversion. And one map done. Yes I have to agree, not contest on that. And PLEASE go to UP and in the level description. I say that it is a remake of the JB-Map by RevBillyG. And all they other version that I have upload at least 5 (cause always missing a file). All the time I said ALL the credit goe's to him. And What the hell whit that. If he whant all the credit everywhere. OK OK I'll only put is name in the map. Are you satisfed if I do that. I don't no how old are you. And I will bet a little $10.00 on that, that you are not above 30. That is a damn childish discussion. If the people of JB. Are all like that fine I'm out of here. So long and GOOD by. Sory that I ask to make a convertion of it. Go to UP and see what I will right in the DAMN level description.

And since you say that a suck at maping. And it is right. Give me all the names of your maps please. And I will check the pathing, of ALL your maps, and I'll come back, to tell you what you did wrong in every one faire enought. You critic, my maping, I will critic your pathing if they are some errors in it, I mean big one, I will be gentle whit you. Only the BIG one. So I'm awaiting the list of your maps. You had your fun great. I will have mine know. So I'm waiting. Ho yea go see the map at UP. I think that the world will no know. That it whas a map of RevBillyG.

Gee-zus. Grow up, everybody.
Firstly: The ability to criticize does not have to be "earned." The value of criticism is entirely independent from who uttered it.
Secondly: Stating that bot pathing is the most complicated part of mapping is nonsense. I wouldn't even know how to start comparing something purely technical like bot pathing and something artistic like most of the rest of mapping. However, bot pathing may be the part that many mappers understand the least.
And Sexmachine, stop flame-baiting.

First ov all pathing is hart at is best. When it is done perfecly. And I think that all best best mapers in the UT comunauty are not stupid. They produce the best piece of art. But they all toll me that there is no constest, in there. So ask them not me. And Sexmachine Afraid?. Even if you say it is because of this or that, that you whon't do it. Whey both no why. I have look at only one of your maps. All I can say. Man your not very well placed to jude other, pure crap that pathing map 0=0. Ya a easy way out :Poop:
