Some weirdo just ran down the middle of the track at Silverstone while the race was running  - no idea what his problem was yet but he seems to have been protesting something.

He was wearing a skirt or a kilt or something.

for those of you (americans) who have no clue what these fellas are on about ;)

The reputation of the British Grand Prix took another blow when a demonstrator ran on to the track at Silverstone, forcing officials to bring out the safety car.

The man, wearing a kilt, carried a placard which read: "Read the Bible - the Bible is always right."

He was bundled to the ground by marshals after running on to the track at the entrance to Hangar Straight on lap 11.

Police then arrested the 56-year-old man and charged him with "aggravated trespass".

Silverstone's managing director Peter Waller immediately launched an official investigation into the track protest.

However, there are fears that F1 bosses Max Mosley and Bernie Ecclestone, who have been highly critical of Silverstone's facilities, will use the incident to drop the race from the F1 calendar.

Ecclestone said the incident reflected poorly on Silverstone's security arrangements.

"It wasn't necessary - the race was exciting enough without it. But the security wasn't good enough," he said.

looked more like a Leperchaun then a religious nut :)

The flogging idiot would've deserved to get hit but luckily for the drivers they all managed to miss him.
Yeah, he was wearing a kilt but why in the name of sanity was he carrying a pair of pants in one hand???
Also, he was no true scot, he had jockeyshorts under the kilt! ;)

[QUOTE=Lizard Of Oz]Rubens Barrichello :tup: Excellent drive'n.

Agreed - despite having the fastest car on the track he still had to work really hard to win that race - and in the process produced the drive of his life.

The Schumi-Villeneuve battle was a joy to behold, and the amount of overtaking going on will have impressed many a jaded viewer (including me). Now if we only had more races like this one.

That was the coolest and most exciting formula1 race I've seen in a long time. Barichello was so much better than usually, he totally owned himself.

True dat, for those that actually watched it was quite exciting. Remember when Barichello faked-out and passed Ralph Schumacher on lap (18 was it?). Came up on him from the outside then when Ralph came to block he dodged down to the inside right as they were going into the turn and took him coming out!

Now THAT was beautiful driving
