When I first registered, I posted sparsely around here. I mostly hung out in the Infiltration forums (I have been a fanboy since Force Recon :)). Aah, yes, I remember the countless mods I tried to make. At one point in time Serpentine accused me of stealing stuff from their mod, on the basis that some of my weapon stats were similar to theirs (Hello - realism mod? Where did they get THEIR information?). They had made a rather un-friendly post on their website, and I got mailbombed a few times. I dropped my first mod before I could get anything done.
Then, I started Unreal Paintball. Did some work on it, didn't get too terribly far because I was still incredibly new when it came to making mods and didn't really have much of a design doc to attract people. I actually had 15 active members at one point in time, but they all had their own ideas. We never got past alpha .001, which was just a crappy model of a tippman pro with no skin shooting a GES-Bio rifle shot in an island map.
Later on, I started a mod called "The Secret Project", which was essentially going to be a mix of the Half Life and Unreal storylines. Never got past the first 3 maps.
After that (I think, anyways), Force Recon went under. I thought, "Hey, I have the time, why don't I take over development of force Recon!" - bad idea. I got a cease-and-decist order from Catalyst, and probably pissed him off something good :). Speaking of Catalyst, he registered a day before me. We are still friends, as far as I know (haven't seen him around in a long time).
During all this time I would hang out in the #unrealed chat room (the one that was formed after the Efnet one).
So, I kinda took a hiatus after a while, playing Asheron's Call. I began to hate Planet Unreal, so I switched over to Unreality (I believe that was it - Preacher ran it) for my news, hosting, and forums. I drifted away into the abyss that was Asheron's Call after UT was released, but later sold my account for $100. I came back to the Infiltration forums and hung out there for a long time, as well as started up my own UT mapping site. I did a few maps for friends, and then switched over to being a texture artist. I quit that, and did a little bit of texture work for mods. Then I went off to college, became a rockstar, and here I am.
I started playing Unreal 1 a month after it's release. The Unreal/UT mod community is still my favorite crew ;) Although some of the younger crowd gets on my nerves. Oh well.
Ok, after that shameful self indulgence, anybody here older than me registration wise?
