Are there walkthroughs for Operation Na Pali levels?

I can't seem to get past the zombie Na Pali boss at the end of map 3.

And how do I keep from restarting at the beginning of the level when I die?

I don't know whether there's a walkthrough anywhere, but concerning the restarting thing: You can save your game with the help of the OldSkool mutator that you should have already installed anyway (it came with Operation: Na Pali). You can either use quicksave (look for the keys quicksave and quickload are assigned to in the oldskool preferences) or you can save normally (in UT's "Game" dropdown menu).

Do this: try to take advantage of the skaarj there(make sure it and the zombie start fighting). Destroy the nali with bursts of plasma, this worked in my case.

Heh, I actually didn't read the exact question (i.e., where you were stuck). It shouldn't be that hard actually, I can't think of any special tricks at the moment though o_O

ya, I got the quicksave deal, but when I die, it only gives me the option of starting at the beginning of the leve. So when the zombie kicks my butt, I have to start the level over again.

By the way, smacking him with some plazma beams/burts are not doing the trick.

Quit the menu which appears that allows you to restart the level, and use the quickload button :)

hmmm, dunno how you managed to get stuck there if you are experienced with UT at all. He's only got a rocket launcher so if you keep dodging non stop then he won't be able to hit you!
If all else fails though, use god. But that will also decrease your score a lot depending on how long you use it for.

Hmm make the skaarj and zombie nali fight eachother, head for the rooftop and take the winner out...?
You have to be quick though ;-) and maybe a bit patient.

Ya, I just needed a little patients. The zombie was easy enough.
I could never get the gate to open so the Nali could help me. He didn't climb over the boxes with me.

Anyway, I have gotten to the assasigns base, (map 7 I think) and love the game.

I still can't believe there is not some sort of walkthrough to help with secrets, power-ups etc.

i already forgot my own secrets, in map 8 theres a text sign on the ceiling close where you start as an insite joke

I must be further than I thought.
That is in the huge 3 level tower with the first level partially under water.
There is some inside joke on the cieling.

I'll post again if I get stuck.

The walkthrough is being done but the person doing it had a comp crash and lost it-I think he recovered a bit of it though

How long has Operation Na Pali been out?

Kiss A$$ game. Very cool lighting and the puzzles are tough enough to stump you, but not too tough to make you want to stop.

i didn't find it very difficult at all, I only died like twice I think.

And whenever I wanted to stop and appreciate the level design of the landscape, some voice would scream "OMFG THIS CANYON IS LEET!"

i still havent played it. the last time i downloaded it using getright(im on 56k, takes 8 hours) the zip was corrupted, im guessing by the resuming.

havent felt like wasting another 8 hours for the same since :p might do one day.

I think you ment saying the mercenary base instead of assasins. And maybe you were in the one you have to explore, with or without the help from the mercs...) You know, after the short Skaarj/Merc fight scene...

Thing is you don't really need a walkthrough, just keep your eyes open and explore the world around you :cool:

I was really just trying to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I have not had any trouble getting through stuff (I may restart at a more difficult setting).

Maybe I was just tired last night, but I have gotten turned around in the ancient volcano ruined temple (map 17ish). With all the overgrown courtyards, rubble and wooden plank walkways, I seem to be going in circles and can't get back to my Nali friend who is now following me around.
I probably just need to approach it with fresh eyes.

But what I was trying to say is that you really should save a walkthrough in case you don't have any other options left. If you can't possibly find an exit etc...
But there's def a way out of that map. the wooden planks are the key to the next part of the level iirc...

Thanks, I'm sure it has something to do with the big round aztec seal at the very top where the planks end. I just have to figure it out.

Maybe I don't react under pressure too well, but I cannot find any cracked pipes to help me out of the pressure room before it squishes me.

The dead due at the beginning of that room says that he escaped out of a cracked pipe, but I cannot find it and get squashed everytime I try to nose around.

Any help?

MAN!!! Are you sure you played ANY OTHER SP in life?????
I mean... walktroughs only get you the easy way. Meaning=no fun!

And you REALLY should had installed Oldschool. If you care, install it and RESTART ONP in HARD or UNREAL difficulty mode.

A good thing about Oldschool is that you can save with a menu. That's usefull because you MIGHT get some map trigger error. I know i had one in a NaPali Heaven-like level. Only thing that worth me was a previous SAVE. That or restart all over... I say this because it might be happening to you in that piperoom. That, or you're no good at SP ;p

So, really... do the right thing.

Try playing the game in coop mode. Very usefull for developping good map tactiques imho :O)

This doesn't work - this doesn't feel right -> second chance -> maybe I'll try this instead -> or that route etc...

Yes, I have quicksaved to the door before the pressure room entrance.
I just can't find a way out of the pressure room..

if i remember correctly a beam falls making a ramp up to the pipe on your left.

well...i reached the fvcked up computer where we get the msg that we have to find the other terminal...i've opened the armoury door & also the room where we get the enhanced ASMD rifle...and then well...i'm stuck...:D

from the room with the super-asmd, go back and always keep looking at the left wall, new room opened there, thats where the 2 skaarj came out right after you picked up the new weapon.

my design flaw there, most people don't see that rooming opening, and it's not their fault. as far as i know i even let light shine out of that corner when the room opens, but it didn't seem to help

My only complaint is that you guys didn't include a weapon that fired rainbow sherbert. That would have rocked.

cant find any door thats opening...if you're referring to the door inside the med room (where the health vials are lying), then yeah it opens but closes as soon as i'm about to enter into it...

still not working.....

if you're saying 'as soon as' i take the rifle, then going back, there are 4 garage doors kinda things which dont open....if i get out of that room & then take a right & an immediate left, i reach a broken girder/pillar...no computer in either case.....

Dunno, I found my way through that map rather easily. In fact, that was one of the game's best features, that I always had a distinct idea where I was going. Unlike some other mods that shall remain nameless and had me wandering around examining mock up rooms that looked like they were placed for scenarios that didn't exist:)

that's an important part of my sp design philosphopy. prevent people from getting stuck, always give em a clue what to do next, onp had only few flaws there.
most questions about onp were from people getting stuck in 2 places in hourences maps, rest was minor

The problems I had in ONP were more like random bugs, like a map exit crashed the game or the thing in the first map, but you patched that up. For the most part, the pack was pretty bug free.

some maps did crash for some people, random stuff, unpredictable engine ****, not much we could do :/

Worked out alright. I wish I could say the same for some glaring bugs in XG that we could never resolve:( Sucks when you have a team of 3 dudes and a duck.

go to the lift and press the button (!) to have it move upwards

the little light on the right before you enter the lift is the button
i know, he made the buttons not very noob friendly, many many people get stuck there

problem is, the buttons can hardly be seen when you have coronas turned off...and nobody noticed the problem during beta testing, since all had it on too

I have this strange error when my guy speaks he has this annoying voice and says these lame ass one liners, any idea on how to fix this?
