*Synastren brandishes his Pentium III 933 & GeForce 2 MX 32 MB card.
I hope that means I have a big penis.
Either that, or an outdated computer. :)

please tell me you're rockin the logitech cordless elite duo.
then you and I would have identical systems except I have a much lower end video card and a 15 inch monitor, crappy speakers and I have a raidmax case and psu instead of the thermaltake one(but I have wanted a TT case for a while)

beer: the main reason was, even though it was my money to spend my parents (well my dad) said there had to be a warranty on the system as a whole, and that i would be able to return it if it were slighty fuxxored.... so, the place i got it micro direct, are in the centre of manchester so theres no problem taking it back (i hope i dont need to) and anyways the service charge was 50 including os installation so it didint break the bank :)

Nice rig but damn, you need to do some tweaking! I have you beat (just) with a CPU running 1100MHz. slower, a quarter of the RAM (also running slower) & I'll bet my rig cost a third of the price. :p

Excellent system, dude.
I wouldn't worry too much about tweaking.

I took a similar approach when I built this one last year (not THAT nice though), but I wish I hadn't. From now on I'm going to go more with moderate performance and keep the price low... that way I get to build new ones more often... I'm itching to build another one and looking for someone who wants a new computer that would let me do it for them, since mine has another year or two on it before it would even need any upgrade at all, much less replaced.

I only built this one three months ago, finished one for a buddy last week and am looking forward to getting my hands in again anytime soon. I'm considering putting together (a totally unnecessary) shuttle for myself sometime soon.
OMG! u spend 424 pounds on a CPU??? /me faints
edit: Swweeeeeet System tho  Like deathmaker said, crank it up a bit, i'm also close on you score with a XP2800+ (2079Mhz)

I doubt it'll last two years.

I've been wanting to do a similar system (who hasn't), but I am afraid I will regret it with all this 64-bit architecture looming on the horizon...

I doubt it'll last two years.
It could last that long, but the problem isn't that it won't be able to work on the new games for 3 years... but that you'll get the itch to upgrade long before it gets outdated.
