Trying to get online playing games

I'm all ready to play games on the net but unfortunetly there are some walls in my way and im not sure how to get past them.

1. What ports do games use, because I connect through a Router meaning I need to open some ports.

2. To prevent naughty Hax0rz getting to my pc, I have Norton PersonalFirewall 03 ,does anyone know how to make rules for games?

3. Is there anything else i need to know before i attempt to get this all working?

Different games use different ports. You'll have to find out on an individual basis. I'm sure there's a big list, somewhere, or that the game FAQs will state what port is used.

As for Haxx0rz, the best you can do is have an up-to-date firewall.

What game are you planning on starting with?

Im not sure, im a bit rusty on Inf dare I say it, but i was thinking BF1942
