Chat in UT

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Can someone tell me how the chat in UT works? I guess it's an irc client included in UT. I enter my desired server and channel. UT connects and I get the motd, but then I'm stuck.

If I say something I get 'You are not on a channel', but the /join command doesn't seem to do anything.

So if someone can explain how it works I would be very pleased. And yes, I know how irc works.

Sorry, but I don't understand you.

I still have no success. I can press right click on the window and then select join and a channel name, but still nothing happens.

As I said I know how irc works. I have been a mirc user for about 4 years now.

I type /join #anychannel

But nothing happens.

So i guess you have an independent IRC client like mIRC. Try to connect throu it, type /server irc.gameslink.net (use this server) and then /join #utgames (official UT channel)


Remember #planetunreal is often empty
