Look at the skybox....
It doesn't seem to flow as well as it could, but it's far easier on the eyes than Falkenstein.

Ahem...

For starters...this map is jawdroppingly gorgeous. The skybox is perfection unto itself, and theme is strong throughout. I think the flow suffered a bit from being too tight in the halls and from the floorplan being a trifle blocky in areas. It is, perhaps, a little too big, but more than makes up for the flaws with the stunning architecture, lighting, and decoration. To top it all off, it has a custom UMX that is better than or on par with the Epic UMX's. For those who haven't noticed, there is even a trap at the Redeemer.

I agree with mister_cope, very cheesy.
If this was an Unreal SP-map three years ago i would probably have liked it. But as an UT DM map it's just wrong. The map is made of the old skytown textures, long tight corridors and attempts at colored lighting. The skybox looks good, but the seams are clearly visible... a nice try though. I've tried making this kind of skybox a few times but i always gave up. If you're looking for a claustrophobic DM-Falkenstein, get this one.

Goldenmouse: The music track IS epic's, it's from the mission pack.

"connectivity is high - corridors connect all the rooms in the correct fashion and the rooms have 2, sometimes 3, exits" :p

skybox is cool, textures are ass, layout is pointless, would make a better unreal SP map IMO

A lot of us over at slackercentral 3dfx Refugees really enjoy this map by vodkins and, collectively, we've played plenty of UT maps. OT but vodkins is a swell fellow, he even "tweaked" up Hall Of Giants for me as a personal favor. He's currently doing Serious Sam maps and was recently honored by having a SS map picked as best submission at a review site.

He'd probably agree that DM-Lemuria isn't the best looking map ever, he designs maps so he and friends can enjoy hardcore death matches. Btw, this is my first post here, it's great to be aboard. :)

Oh yeah, lol, I'm hardly unbiased as I'm the one who submitted Lemuria to NaliCity for review. vodkins subsequently started posting at slackers, quickly made friends, and began offering some beta SS maps.

I really enjoy the subtle tweaks and different textures he put in for Hall Of Giants and play it often. Obviously it's not for public consumption as neither of us asked for the authors blessing.

Laterz. :)
