"Mark Forum as Read Option?"

I'm accustomed to seeing a "Mark Forum as Read" option in the lower right corner of other boards using this software. Any chance it could be activated here?

Now I know why I wasn't seeing it; I shoulda been more specific. It's the "Mark ALL forums read" option on the main page:

Well, the answer to that is this:

That option will appear ONLY for active, individual Forums.

When you look at the Nali City Forum Index, what you're really seeing is this:

NaliCity>Visible, but Inactive Forum (acts as Index)
-NaliCity>Visible, active Forum
-User Reviews>Visible, active Forum
-NaliCity - General Forums>Visible, but Inactive Forum (acts as category header)
SUBFORUMS:
--Play The Game>Visible, active Forum
--Other Stuff>Visible, active Forum
--Troubleshooting>Visible, active Forum
--Single Player>Visible, active Forum
-NaliCity - Map Making>Visible, but Inactive Forum (acts as category header)
--Map Ideas>Visible, active Forum
--Play Testing>Visible, active Forum

etc, etc

Only INDIVIDUAL Forums can be marked as read.

What you're asking for is to make an ENTIRE set of Forums marked as read. That would be like having a "Mark as Read" at the bottom of the BeyondUnreal Forums Index.

You can't do it.

No, see you're not comparing the same thing. I take the blame for not being able to explain it better.

We *do* have a "Mark All Forums As Read" button. You'll find it on the BeyondUnreal Forums Index page. Nali City does not run it's own copy of vbulletin, but it is a series of sub forums. When you look at http://www.unreal2ctf.com/forums/ you're looking at their Index. When you look at Nali City Forums (http://forums.beyondunreal.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=160) you're looking at sub forums whose parent is the Nali City Index forum (visible, but inactive - acting as a category) which do not have that option.

Look at Stealth DP's Playground (http://www.unreal2ctf.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=7) and you will see that they do not have a mark all as read button on that page.

In vb there are two ways to mark forums as read.

1) Individual forums may be marked as read.
2) All forums may be marked as read.

You cannot mark groups of sub forums as read, which is what NC Forums are.

Ah-- makes much more sense. You're right that I wasn't seeing these as "sub-forums" since they were "branded" differently than the BeyondUnreal page (meaning they looked physically different).
