Published by Syrian publishing house Dar al-Fikr, Underash seeks to "counterbalance the poisonous ideas conveyed by American video games," project director Hussan Salem told the French newswire AFP. In the game, you play Ahmed, a young Palestinian stone-thrower, caught up in a daily battle with Israeli tanks.

It's the Middle East's first 3D game and its also the first to deal with the growing violence of the intifada.

"We aspire to peace," publisher Mohammad Salem told AFP, "We are simply telling the story of a people uprooted from his homeland, whose children are killed." ---

I must say, from a gaming point of view, it looks pretty mediocre, but you've gotta respect these guys for making a game like this. Kinda reminds me of the birth of Platoon 19... just with deserts instead of jungels, vietnamese instead of arabs, and americans instead of israelis.

1) How do you configure the keys?
2) How do you set the resolution higher On Level One I keep getting this soldier standing out in the middle of the road who seems to be shooting at a patch of ground in front of me, only to get mowed down by this big fat guy about 30 yards away with what sounds like a suppressed SMG...
3) The game runs even worse than UT on OpenGL for me.
4) The music's kinda cool though.

i dunno, i never downloaded it. A firend showed me an artical that had a link to this and another game where i guess you throw rocks at tanks. (no joke) i saw the screenshots and thought you guys would get a kick out of it.

I don't really see how the ESRB or Bush for that matter would be able to really do much of anything let alone have a field day. It's not an american game. It's like the Motion Picture Association of America trying to rate a chinese propaganda film really...

Well, they can't really do anything to the game so much as with the game... probably cause a huge stir about it, perhaps artificially inspire an underground following, completely overblow any incident involving a "terrorist" who had ever so much as looked at that game in his life and try to use it to incite further anti-violent-game sentiment...

agreed. Your about as likely to see it in your local EB as you are to see chinese propaganda on your local TV programing.
