has anyone seen really cool skins/models/voice packs? i want some new ones, i allready got some cool ones, like:

Alien queen skin + voice (gotta have this one)
RedGuy Voice, dl now, this one is hilarious. dont have to know the cartoon, its so cool when you frag someone and you say "Die happy!" hehe, thats priceless :D

so tell me here :)

man I have tons of voicepaks and models :) Came up with a couple of great combinations. Even posted a special related thread a couple of months ago:


You'll find most voices at RAM2000 and most skins/models at skincity.
Do you have the links to those sites?

The new Reptile model at Skin City is freakin AWESOME, one of the best i've seen.

They have great skins & models at Polycount (www.planetquake.com/polycount) and Identity Crisis (www.planetunreal.com/identitycrisis) .

Their selections are smaller than Skincity's / RAM2000's, but they seem to have quality instead of quantity.

Your link refers to Planetquake. I dont play quake3 anymore, cuz my HD is already full of UT skinz, modelz, etc. Im waiting for another HD. maybe i will reinstall Q3A, im not sure. Anyway, ill have even more MB free for UT :D

Polycount is hosted at Planet Quake, but they've got some very good UT models too. :)

Erm, those models aren't only converted ones. Polycount hosts models for many different games, dunno why they are "only" hosted at Planet Quake.

ok i c. thx a lot, 2 bad there are only 32 bots to stick those VP/skins to. :( You should try the Alien Queen with Alien Queen voice, it rocks when she says: I will shred more than your pride. thats cool :cool:

It's possible to configure more than 32 bots. There's this mod called Xbots which lets you generate more than one bot list. A new version has been released at the Identity Crisis forums I think, you obviously have to log in there tho; you can get an older version at Modsquad (http://www.planetunreal.com/modsquad/asp/breviews.asp?396).

This older version seems to have a few bug problems tho, or at least I had problems using the standard bot list together with one of the new Xbots lists (wasn't a big problem tho, every new list is the same as the standard list before you modify it). Also they said that a bug where you couldn't change the bot's skills or so has been fixed with the newer version.

You can generate a few lists and configure which one should be used; you can also let UT use two of the lists at the same time, if you want bots from both lists. Dunno if you can use more lists simultaneously with the newer version.

Xbots Rocks! Plus it allows you to use up to 64 different models, instead of just 32.:cool:

Does this new version include 32 new bot lists? (that's what I've read in the readme of xbots v. 0.55)

About the 32 bot lists: dunno, didn't use the new version yet :)

Edit: I just read the readme, it states that there will be 32 lists in a future version. Now, there are "only" 6 lists available.

To get around the difficulty problem, you have to edit the .ini files that XBots installs. Every line that says difficulty=N, where N is a number from 0 - 7, you must change to the difficulty you want. 3 = skilled, 4 = adept, 7 = godlike. I forget what 0 is called.

They all have to be the same though (or XBots just changes all of them to the highest number). You can still deselect the XBots mutator and change the skill level of the default bots.

The new version hopefully fixes this.

i guess you mean the base skill level that the bots have, that you can change in their individual config? am i right here?

No, no, that still works fine; I meant when you select the difficulty level of bots on the practice-session window. The version I have ignores this completely and uses whatever difficulty is in the XBots.ini files.

From v. 056's readme:

Version info:
056: Fixed bug where changes to bot AI level did not show up in
game, and now supports 128 bot classes.

So that seems to be fixed. Still, there must be a bug left that doesn't let me use the standard UT bot list together with the custom map lists. Still, that doesn't really matter, I simply left one of the custom lists without any changes, so it's absolutely identical to the standard list, and it works :)
